The Green Monster

Green Beans Are Pretty Good!

Blowing Snot Bubbles in Protest

After cereal, Luci and Mason's first food was green beans. Luci gives them two thumbs up, but Mason is still warming up to the idea. :) We're guessing that they're going to be way more responsive once we get to the orange vegetables and then the fruits. But first, we've got to get through peas...we'll see if they like them as much as Papa Ernie!

The Dragon and The Butterfly

Just Getting Limber for Our Halloween Party

Momma and Daddy Showing Us Off

Despite What You See, Dragons are NOT Scared of Butterflies...Ok?

Given that Ken and I met at a Halloween Party (Jolly Green Giant vs the Fembot) and we got married in October, we have always loved this time of year. It's even MORE fun when you can dress up your adorable children and show them off to the world. While the Dragon costume won out this year for Mason, Ken was considering making Mason go as Friar Tuck. How would we pull that off? Take one bald chubby boy and add a brown robe, tied with rope, and a cross. Tadahhh! But the Dragon costume was already on its way and was easier, so there you go. Luci loved looking at herself in the mirror in her costume...the antenae were fascinating to her. Now we're off to think off family costumes for next year!

We're Six Months Old!

...and its exhausting!

See - we're six months old!

Go Griz!!

Just lounging

Well, we turned six months old on October 30 - yay for us! We've been flirting with the idea of rolling over, but don't really like to do it on our own. Momma asked our Dr. Graham about it and she said something about how we're strong enough to roll over and are perfectly on track, but that we seem to have a "lack of motivation". Daddy thought that our absence of motivation was really funny and referenced that similiar feedback was given on him by all of his teachers. Momma didn't laugh. :) But we are loving standing up, playing in our exersaucer and doorway jumpers, and are really finetuning our dorky kid laughs. And we're eating like champs - see our other blog posts on that.
Here's the six-month stats:
Luci: 16 lbs, 13.5 oz (50-75%) and 26 7/8" (90%)
Mason: 18 lbs, 8.5 oz (50-75%) and 28 3/4" (97+%)
Dr. Graham says that we're just perfect and are obviously destined to be very tall like our parents. Then she left and another lady came in and gave us a whole crap-load of shots. We didn't like her so much. But Momma said we don't need to go back for another few months. Yay!

Hello Solid Foods...We've Been Waiting For You

Unsure what's about to happen, but Momma and Daddy seem pretty excited....

Granny has been talking about this 'mush-mush' stuff since we were in utereo. She was first in line to come and feed us!

What WAS that stuff? Where's the boob?

What the heck just happened? Spa facial gone wrong?

So we went from getting to lay down and snuggle with Momma when we ate to having to sit up and have some metal thingy wedged in our mouth? And this metal thingy has some weird stuff on it...it's called cereal. We're really unsure about it and Luci especially likes to use her tongue as a scraper and push it against her upper lip to push all of the cereal out of her mouth...pretty cool trick. Granny Mar loves to come over and feed us - she just laughs and laughs and laughs. But we're getting the hang of it more and more. First step, cereal...next step, filet mignon.

Daddy's at Home Now - Weeeeeeeeee!

Why I Oughtta....!

Fish Hook!

Luci's got a mean right hook...and crazy eyes

Baby Einstein brainwashing in effect

Daddy's been home with us now for almost a month. It's been really fun! He takes us on walks, lets us spit up on him over and over and over again, he dresses us up in Mariners and Brewers outfits, we watch ball games with him, and he introduced us to our favorite indoor pasttime - Baby Einstein. We're very lucky to have such a nice daddy!

So Nice of Momma's Friend Sally and Her Son, Isaac to Let Us Play At Their Beautiful House on the Way to Montana.

I Like To Show My Support for Papa Ernie's Team....Go Packers!

So, we're now five months old...much older and wiser than before. In fact, right after we turned five months old (9/30/2009), we hit the month of October and had many, many firsts. These firsts all contributing to our newfound maturity, including:

  • Our first-ever roadtrip/trip to Montana (We survived 20 hours in the car round-trip to get to Missoula, MT)

  • Our first snow (Five degrees and snow in Montana...unsure about how I feel about the Big Sky Country)

  • Our first colds/flu (We wish we knew how to blow our noses. And Momma and Daddy were a bit traumatized by the Exorcist-style puking episode from Mason...they claim to still have flash-backs.)

  • Our first Montana Grizzlies gear (Thanks to Uncle Sean and Aunt Jen, we got sweatsuits! And Mason got pajamas and Luci got a cheerleading outfit. Momma and Daddy also bought us a fleece snowsuit...didn't seem to help out in 5 degree weather, but we looked cute.)

  • Our first football game in Packers gear (Papa Ernie was proud.)

  • Our first time playing pinochle (Luci is a card shark!)

Good times!
